As far as Joel Embiid is concerned, Philadelphia 76ers coach Brett Brown shouldn’t be going anywhere.
Amid chatter that Brown’s job could be on the line if the Sixers did not advance past the second round of the playoffs, Embiid said that talk was “bull—-” while offering a strong defense of his coach.
“I just thought (the rumor) was bull—,” Embiid said Monday, via Derek Bodner of The Athletic. “He’s done a fantastic job. He’s been there through everything…I don’t think he should have anything to worry about. He’s an amazing coach and a better person.”
Despite Embiid’s strong vote of confidence, reports indicate that Brown does, indeed, have something to worry about as far as his job status goes. It’s not clear when the Sixers will make their decision about Brown’s future, but it’s going to be a nervous few days for him and, it seems, the organization.
