Joel Embiid says he will be back next season
It was already a good night for the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday when they won the top overall pick in the NBA Draft Lottery, but Joel Embiid made it even better with an update on his health.
Shortly after the Sixers nabbed the No. 1 pick, Embiid tweeted that he expects to be good to go at the start of the 2016-2017 season.
The #3 Pick from the 2014 draft is gonna be ready too… Let's get it

Embiid had foot surgery before the NBA Draft in 2014, but the 76ers took him third overall anyway. He missed all of his rookie season and then needed another surgery last August following a setback, costing him this past season as well. We started hearing positive news about Embiid’s recovery back in December, and it sounds like he is still where he needs to be.
Plenty of people have already labeled Embiid a bust, so it would almost be a bonus if he is able to stay healthy and contribute. Embiid being ready to go for the start of the season would be more surprising than Philadelphia earning the top pick, thanks to Dikembe Mutombo and his spoiler tweet.
