John Wall not interested in being ‘boring’ during his free time
John Wall is a star NBA player who does not live and breathe basketball 24 hours a day, and he does not think that gives anyone the right to criticize him.
Some fans feel Wall might spend a little too much time partying and not enough working on his game, and the Washington Wizards point guard was asked about that on Thursday. He defended his leisure time.
John Wall on fans having unrealistic expectations on what athletes can & can't do in their free time: "You got a 9-5, what you do after your 9-5? You not about to sit in the house all day? I'm a grown man and I can do what I want to" pic.twitter.com/x41elPj1iJ

Wall has a point, though it’s one that would probably carry a lot more weight if he had led the Wizards to a championship by now. Anytime a top overall pick comes up short in his career, there are going to be questions about whether he could be doing more to be successful.
All that said, it’s not as if Wall is pulling a Le’Veon Bell. He’s battled some injuries during his career, but he has managed to stay out of trouble off the court and is not a distraction to his team. Even pro athletes are entitled to some down time every now and then.
