Jordan Poole mocked over wild shot attempt at end of loss
Jordan Poole was mocked on Twitter Wednesday night over a wild shot attempt he took towards the end of his Golden State Warriors’ 107-103 loss to the Phoenix Suns.
Poole led the Warriors with 38 points, and the ball was in his hands when his team took the ball out with under 8 seconds remaining in the game. Poole started to dribble, but as he approached halfcourt, he realized the Suns were going to foul him. That would have put him at the line with the chance just to add two more points and give the ball back to Phoenix.
So Poole thought the optimal strategy was to heave a halfcourt shot with four seconds left.

The shot missed, and then the Warriors fouled Phoenix. The Suns added another free throw to win by four.
Poole didn’t exactly have the most pleasant reception on social media after his shot.

I know Jordan Poole didn’t just pull from behind the haftcourt line down 3 with 5 seconds left

Steph Curry is out with a foot injury, so he wasn’t available to take the shot. Klay Thompson was only 1/10 on threes in the game. Poole though shot 50 percent from the field and had the hot hand, so he thought he would take the deep halfcourter. It didn’t work out. Maybe next time he’ll try a pass instead.
