Former NBA swingman Josh Childress is playing professional basketball in Australia for the Sydney Kings this year. On Thursday night, Childress committed one of the hardest fouls you will see all season — in any league.
Perth Wildcats forward Jesse Waggstaff set a clean, hard screen on Childress during the third quarter, and Childress did not appreciate it. When Waggstaff got the ball in the paint a few seconds later, Childress charged at him and cranked him in the head with a flying elbow. He showed no remorse on his way to the bench.
Perth fans were actually cheering for Childress, who came to Australia with a lot of hype attached to him, before his cheap shot on Waggstaff. They turned on him in a hurry. It’s amazing Waggstaff didn’t get seriously hurt.
