JR Smith says he does not drink Hennessy: ‘I hate that s—’
JR Smith is making a surprising revelation that may shake meme culture to its very core.
On a video game livestream this week, the veteran NBA swingman said that he does not even drink Hennessy, despite his reputation. Check out the video (but beware of the foul language):

“I don’t even drink Henny, bro,” said the former Sixth Man of the Year. “It’s not my s—, bro … I hate that s—, forreal. I never drank it even before that. The funny thing is that the picture everybody talks about with me drinking Henny? It’s a champagne bottle. So I don’t even know how that even came about. But it’s whatever.”
Smith, a free agent who has not played since Nov. 2018, seems to be referring to his exploits at the Cleveland Cavaliers’ title parade in 2016. Whatever its origin, Smith has been widely linked to the drink in various memes and viral videos since then and is even known to some as “Henny God.”
With Smith about to turn 35 years old in the fall however, he probably feels that the joke has gone on for long enough at this point.
