JR Smith shades Draymond Green ahead of NBA Finals Game 2

JR Smith Indians

We’re barely 48 hours into the 2017 NBA Finals, and JR Smith is already out here throwing rocks.

Speaking with reporters on Saturday prior to Game 2, Smith was asked if his Cleveland Cavaliers needed to get more physical and “dirty up the game” a bit after a blowout 22-point loss to the Golden State Warriors in Game 1.

“Dirtying up the game? I don’t know about that,” Smith said. “I mean, they got one guy who keeps kicking people in the nuts, so I don’t know about that. But we don’t dirty up the game, we just play physical, that’s all. Some people don’t like physical, and that’s what it is. We just gotta play our game and the way we know how to play, and that’s what’s been successful for us.”

The thinly-veiled shot at Warriors forward Draymond Green and his notorious kicking habit definitely isn’t lost on us. But with Smith scoring just 3 points on 1-of-4 shooting with two turnovers and no other stats to his credit in Game 1, he’ll have to come back at Golden State with a lot more than just words.
