Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant left Sunday’s game against the Houston Rockets early after he appeared to severely twist his left ankle.
Durant drove to the basket and drew a foul against Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr. about five minutes into the second half at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Ariz. KD accidentally stepped on Smith’s left foot as he made his move into the paint.
The 15-time All-Star badly rolled his ankle on the play. He was unable to attempt the free throws and was taken directly to the locker room.

Suns rookie Oso Ighodaro came in for Durant and shot the free throws in his stead.
Durant left the contest with 11 points and 7 rebounds. He also had a technical foul called on him earlier in the game due to an altercation with Rockets forward Dillon Brooks.
The Suns, which were already trailing 92-57 when Durant left the game, were unable to rally without their superstar swingman. The home team got blown out by the visitors 148-109.
The loss dropped the Suns’ record to 35-40, putting them a game and a half back of the final play-in spot in the Western Conference with only seven games left in their season.
