Kevin Durant admits relationship with Russell Westbrook has changed forever
Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant were one of the closest superstar duos in the NBA together on the Oklahoma City Thunder, but Durant knows his decision to leave has probably impacted that.
Durant, currently in China on behalf of Nike, spoke to Sina about the impact his decision to join the Warriors will have on his relationship with Westbrook.
“I just told him, I let him know how I felt.” Durant said, via Ananth Pandian of CBS Sports. “And you obviously, our relationship probably won’t ever be the same again, but it’s something I wanted to do and I expressed that to him. Hopefully, he respected it.”
The duo shared a tight bond with the Thunder, and you only need to look at these quotes to know it. That will change. There is no way it can’t. The mutual respect likely remains, but Westbrook gets to run his own show now – provided he’s not the next one out the door in Oklahoma City.
