Kevin Durant announces he underwent surgery for torn Achilles
Kevin Durant has confirmed what everyone feared: he tore his Achilles during Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
In a post on Instagram, Durant revealed that he underwent surgery on Wednesday after tearing his Achilles, saying that it was a successful operation and “my road back starts now.”
Durant added that he was eager to play in Game 5 despite his rushed recovery from a calf injury “because that’s what I do.” Whether he has any real regrets about it remains to be seen, but the Warriors sure don’t.
There is no immediate timetable for Durant’s recovery, but given it’s an Achilles injury, the most realistic outcome is that he’ll likely miss the entirety of next season.
