Kevin Garnett compares Steph Curry to Michael Jordan
Kevin Garnett was around when Michael Jordan was still in his heyday, so when he favorably compares Jordan and Stephen Curry, people take note.
It’s the takeaway Garnett had after his Minnesota Timberwolves were beaten 129-116 on Thursday night, a night in which Curry put up 46 points.
“Like Michael Jordan was a whole other thing, this guy is his own thing,” Garnett said after the loss Thursday, via ESPN’s Brian Windhorst. “It’s beautiful for basketball.”
Curry does seem to be in a league of his own right now. He’s averaging 33.4 points per game and he feels like a threat to go off for 40 or more every time he takes the court, or maybe more than that. Still, to hear one of the game’s stalwarts in Garnett compare him to MJ is indicative of the respect Curry is earning among his peers.
