The Thunder fired Scott Brooks as head coach Wednesday, which was a move many saw coming. The decision was not a reflection of the team missing the playoffs amid an injury-riddled season, but rather of the way things went under his entire tenure. They are in the market for a new coach now, and Ollie is said to be one of the top targets.
Ollie played for the Thunder in his last season in the league as a 37-year-old and became a national champion head coach of the Huskies in college a few years later. He has a worthy resume and would command the respect of the Thunder players. The question is whether or not OKC makes him their man. It seems like he is their top target, while Billy Donovan could also be in consideration.
