Lakers star Kobe Bryant visited Manny Pacquiao at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card gym in Hollywood Thursday to see the boxer train for his November 12th fight with Juan Manuel Marquez. Both athletes are sponsored by Nike, and Kobe has traveled to Pacquiao’s home country of the Philippines while on tour, so they have a decent amount in common.
Pacquiao is a well known basketball fan (though the Celtics are his favorite team), and there is a friendship between the two. During a visit in the Philippines, Kobe said of Pacquiao “Manny’s the man. His talent and work ethic are unmatched.”
Pacquiao has also described Kobe as a friend.
