Word of Kristaps Porzingis’ frustration with the New York Knicks led multiple teams to inquire about his trade availability, according to a report.
Porzingis skipped his exit meeting with the Knicks last month because he was frustrated with the franchise. This happened right around the same time as more of the continued drama, which included team president Phil Jackson trying to push out Carmelo Anthony.
After the report emerged, teams began hovering over the Knicks like birds of prey on a carcass.
ESPN New York’s Ian Begley says several teams called the Knicks to inquire about Porzingis, who remains part of the team. Begley says the 21-year-old has not spoken with the Knicks since skipping his meeting.
Even though he is frustrated with the drama surrounding the team, Porzingis said he wants to remain with the Knicks, though he emphasized an importance on winning. The Knicks have not delivered in that capacity so far during his tenure with the team.
