The modern NBA is asking many a big man to expand their range out to the three-point line. But New York Knicks fans apparently don’t think that Kyle O’Quinn falls under that category, and O’Quinn is having a bit of fun with it.
The bearded 26-year-old, who has 17 makes in 71 tries (23.9 percent) from beyond the arc in his four-year NBA career, took two 3-point attempts in the Knicks’ season-opener on Tuesday, missing both of them. Ahead of Saturday’s home opener against the Memphis Grizzlies, a fan had a friendly suggestion for O’Quinn and his long-range dreams (complete with foul language).
Don’t shoot any fucking 3′s tonight @Kyle_OQuinn

Always a man of the people, O’Quinn caught wind of the recommendation in his mentions and responded thusly:
Got you boy! https://t.co/pGQSVDjqpB

Perhaps it’s actually a good idea for O’Quinn, who doesn’t have the most flattering history when it comes to taking jumpers, to cut back a bit on the attempts from distance. But part of me secretly hopes that O’Quinn gives in to spite and lets it fly like Steph Curry when he faces Memphis on Saturday.
