Wednesday was not Kyle O’Quinn’s night.
First O’Quinn embarrassed himself by missing a wide open shot by either letting the ball slip out of his hands, or bouncing it off his own head. It was such a uniquely odd play, I’m still not even sure exactly where he went wrong.
Then midway through the second quarter, O’Quinn was ejected after being called for a Flagrant-2 foul following his contact on Blake Griffin:
Ejecting O’Quinn was a bad call. He was going for the block and the contact on Blake’s face was incidental. It’s too bad he was tossed, but at least it saved him from further embarrassment.
Which was worse: O’Quinn’s blunder or Elfrid Payton airballing two free throws?
