Did you ever have a teacher who gave your class the “In my 35 years of teaching, I have never seen anything like this” speech? The Los Angeles Lakers have an assistant coach who appears to feel that way right now.
Retired NBA big man and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins criticized the Lakers in a post to Instagram this week. The post, which came after the team’s blowout loss to the New Orleans Pelicans at home, blasted the purple and gold for “disrespecting the game” and for playing “careless basketball.”
Notably enough, Perkins’ post got a “like” from Lakers assistant Phil Handy.

Handy, who has since “unliked” the post, is in his fifth total season with the Lakers. He specializes in player development and has been on head coach Frank Vogel’s staff throughout Vogel’s tenure in Los Angeles.
The Lakers are now six games under .500 and have definitely been showing a lack of pride. Even their coaches seem to fed up with what they are seeing.
