The NBA’s trade deadline has come and gone. Some players who were expected to be traded changed cities, like Goran Dragic and Reggie Jackson. Others who heard their names mentioned in rumors stayed put. Among the latter group is Jordan Hill.
While Hill is still a member of the Lakers, for a few brief moments he may have thought otherwise. The veteran big man was summoned by coaches, who told him general manger Mitch Kupchak wanted to see him.
“He just started walking,” [Byron] Scott said, according to the Orange County Register, “(and was) like ‘What’s wrong? What’s up?’ Then we just started laughing.”
The time leading up to the trade deadline can understandably be stressful. Of course, it doesn’t help if you have teammates or coaches who are more than willing to take advantage of the situation with a little prank. Ultimately, a good laugh was shared and, let’s face it, the Lakers haven’t had a whole lot to laugh about this season.
