LaVar Ball had his foot amputated recently, according to a report.
TMZ Sports reported on Wednesday that Ball had suffered a “serious medical issue.” The issue led to him having his right foot amputated.
Ball is said to be in “great spirits” and doing well despite the matter.
LaVar Ball became famous in 2017 when he started to make outlandish statements while hyping up his sons. He had declared that his basketball-playing sons, Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo, would all be NBA players. It turns out he wasn’t too far off as LaMelo has become a star, while Lonzo has been a solid pro. LiAngelo’s basketball career didn’t pan out, but he has had new life thanks to a budding music career.
LaVar also developed a clothing and shoe line called Big Baller Brand, but that fizzled out. Ball has faded into the background and has mostly allowed his sons to have the spotlight in recent years. That likely explains why the news of his amputated foot wasn’t public until now. And it also explains why you haven’t heard much about the guy who was once banned from ESPN.
