LeBron James hits game-winning floater to lift Cavs over Nets (Video)

On a night where the shorthanded Cleveland Cavaliers came out flat and struggled to fend off the three-win Brooklyn Nets, resident Chosen One LeBron James donned his superhero cape once again and made magic happen.

After Joe Johnson hit three clutch free throws with 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 88, the four-time MVP hit a running floater over the outstretched arm of Nets center Brook Lopez with one second remaining to lift the Cavs to a 90-88 victory on Saturday night.

James finished with 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists for the Cavs who have jumped out to a 13-4 start to the season despite still being without guards Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert.

It’s another disappointment in a season already full of them for the Nets, who gave the Cavs all they could handle on their home floor, holding them to just 40.2 percent from the field on the evening.

Even on the final play, Brooklyn did everything they could, forcing James into the difficult contested in-between shot. There is simply just no defense for LeBron James going downhill on the high pick-and-roll with a head of steam as the Nets, like many toppled foes before them, learned the hard way tonight.

As for the Cavs, who have had their own questions about effort and intensity early on in the season, it’s momentum-shifting moments like this that are exactly what the team needs to get back to where they want to be.
