LeBron James reportedly could miss multiple games with groin injury
Although LeBron James is listed as day-to-day with his groin injury, the Los Angeles Lakers star may sit out multiple games to heal.
LeBron strained his groin during the Lakers’ win over the Golden State Warriors on Christmas. He exited the game in the third quarter and did not return. At the time, James said he “felt a pop,” although an MRI showed the injury is not severe.
Though the injury is just a strain, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst say the Lakers are prepared for James to miss multiple games. The thinking is that LeBron has never had this type of an injury before, so he and the team may want to play things cautiously to ensure he is fully healed before returning.
Earlier this season, Stephen Curry missed 11 games for the Warriors while recovering from a groin injury. He suggested that LeBron sit out until he is fully healed and not rush back.
The Lakers entered play on Thursday 20-14, tied with the Clippers for the fourth spot in the West.
