Lil B will attend Game 5 to curse James Harden

James Harden cookin

The Golden State Warriors were unable to complete a sweep of the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Finals on Monday, but Bay Area rapper Lil B is planning to help them finish the job in Game 5.

Before Game 2, Lil B called James Harden out for supposedly stealing his cooking dance and using it as an on-court celebration. Lil B said he didn’t mind Harden using the move as long as he gave credit, and he gave Harden until Game 3 to issue some sort of shoutout. Harden did not, so Lil B decided to place the three-time NBA All-Star under The Based God Curse.

Lil B, who calls himself The Based God, spoke to Marcus Thompson of Bay Area News Group about the curse.

“I’ve seen a lot of people stealing from what I do,” he explained. “Some people show love and say thank you and tell me how I was an inspired for them. So Harden’s just getting the rough end.”

Lil B says he decided to issue the curse before Game 3. Harden proceeded to shoot 3-for-16 from the field in a 35-point loss that night. Lil B insists that is not a coincidence, as he claims the hex has also worked on Kevin Durant.

“People just show how real they are,” he said. “They’ve got to be real in the heart. When you hatin, that just shows where your heart is. This (curse) only happens when you hate on Lil B or for stealing from Lil B or showing disrespect.

“We wouldn’t be talking if it wasn’t. It can’t be fake. You see what happened to KD. He was doing great before messing with me.”

In 2011, Lil B supposedly put his curse on Durant after Durant disrespected him. The Oklahoma City Thunder lost 4-1 in the Western Conference Finals that year and 4-1 in the NBA Finals the following year.

So when the Warriors win Game 5, it won’t be because they are one of the best teams in the NBA. Thanks to Lil B, the Rockets don’t really have a chance. Houston fans could even hand out shirts similar to these ones at Oracle Arena, and it wouldn’t do any good. Harden should have just given Lil B a shoutout for the sake of his team’s playoff hopes.
