Rockets upset with Warriors for handing out T-shirts to fans in Houston
The Houston Rockets are close to being eliminated from the NBA playoffs and now they’re just taking their frustration out on all targets. They’re even complaining about what the Golden State Warriors are doing with T-shirts.
Warriors fans are among the best in all sports and showed up strong in Houston for the Western Conference finals. To reward those fans and create a home court-like advantage, the team decided to hand out their yellow “Strength in Numbers” T-shirts to their fans at the Toyota Center.
Bay Area News Group columnist Marcus Thompson reports that the Rockets were not happy about this and called it “unprofessional.”

Thompson says the Warriors were only giving away the shirts to fans already in Warriors gear, but some Rockets fans apparently were asking for them too.

Are the Warriors crossing a line by doing this? Is there a rule saying teams cannot give out gear to their fans? It seems to me that the team is well within its rights to do that. Rockets fans should have made sure that no visiting fans could get into the game, but they apparently did not do so.
