Luke Walton visited Rams camp to study Jeff Fisher

A new trend appears to be developing where NBA head coaches visit some of their NFL counterparts to study their methods and management.

Los Angeles Lakers coach Luke Walton is the latest to do it, visiting Los Angeles Rams camp to study how Jeff Fisher operates.

“I came down with an open mind,” Walton told the Rams’ official site, via Kurt Helin of ProBasketballTalk. “I know it’s obviously different sports, but coaching to me is coaching. It’s how you relate to the players and different strategies.”

Fisher has been coaching in some capacity since 1985 and has been a head coach since 1995. If Walton is looking for someone experienced, he’d be hard pressed to do better than Fisher.

Walton seems to be taking a cue from Jason Kidd, who shadowed this highly successful NFL coach earlier in the offseason for similar reasons.
