Malik Beasley remains a free agent, but another playoff team is monitoring his situation.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have interest in Beasley, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. Charania said on ESPN’s “NBA Today” Wednesday that the Cavaliers are monitoring Beasley because of a long-term injury to Max Strus, who underwent foot surgery last month.

Charania reiterated that Beasley is still facing an NBA investigation into alleged gambling activity. The Cavaliers will not make a move for the veteran shooter unless he is cleared in that investigation.
At this point, it is clear that Beasley will have no shortage of suitors if he gets the green light from the league. Other playoff teams have also been linked to the free agent, though he is stuck in a holding pattern and it is unclear when the league might make a final decision on his status.
Beasley provides plenty of potential value to the Cavaliers and other potential contenders. He shot 41.6 percent from three-point range last season for the Detroit Pistons and finished second in Sixth Man of the Year voting. His primary value comes in his shooting, and he can heat up and provide scoring punch off the bench very quickly.
