Marcus Morris injured neck when baby son jumped on him
New York Knicks forward Marcus Morris has missed the last couple of games due to an unconventional reason.
Morris, who sat out losses to Boston and Milwaukee this week with a neck issue, told reporters on Wednesday that he suffered the injury last week when his 1-year-old son jumped on him, per Ian Begley of SportsNet New York. Morris added that he tried to play through the injury during a loss to Philadelphia on Friday, only for it to worsen.
The 30-year-old Morris, who signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the Knicks this past summer, is averaging career-highs this season in points (18.7), rebounds (6.2), and blocks (0.6) per game.
While the circumstances were certainly bizarre, Morris is not the first athlete to get hurt in the course of his fatherly duties.
