Marcus Smart’s oblique injury is much more serious than initially reported.

Smart’s oblique issue was originally viewed as a strain, but this is much worse. He’s arguably the team’s best defender and would be sorely missed, especially if the team ends up matching up with the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the playoffs. The timing could not be worse, and if he is out as long as it’s feared, they will miss him badly.
