That’s how this Steelers fan made it on LBS — he got a tattoo of Brett Keisel across his forearm. Same thing with the Canucks fan who lost a bet to his friend and got a Bruins tattoo on his leg.
Well this crazy Mavericks fan named Derick Dilday ended up with a Dirk Nowitzki tattoo on his butt after saying he would do so. Here’s his story according to the Dallas Observer via Deadspin:
Once [the Mavericks] got to the Finals, especially against the Miami Heat, I may have got a little too excited and posted on Facebook that I would get Dirk’s face tatted on my ass if they won it all. I got quite a few comments back from friends, so I knew that if they did win it all I would kind of have to do it. When Dirk lifted the Larry O’Brien and the MVP trophy it was the greatest sports moment of my life. I sports-cried, called a high school friend that does tattoos and have been on a Dallas Mavericks championship high ever since. Now I realize that I will be sitting on a big German man’s face for the rest of my life.
The good news is he’s no different from Jason Terry and Dominique Jones who also got tattoos to commemorate the Dallas championship. Actually, there is a difference — they got the Larry O’Brien Trophy tattooed on their bodies, not a crappy rendition of Dirk’s mug. That thing is turrible and Dilday gets the Scioscia Stare for his poor judgment.
