Metta World Peace wants to coach Knicks
Metta World Peace is ready for his close-up.
The retired former All-Star tweeted on Saturday that he would “love” to coach the New York Knicks, who just fired head coach Jeff Hornacek this week.
I would love to be head coach for the @nyknicks

The 38-year-old World Peace, who is currently a player development coach in the NBA G League for the South Bay Lakers, is actually slightly familiar with the Knicks — he had a brief stint with them as a player from 2013 to 2014.
That being said, the artist formerly known as Ron Artest probably isn’t the strongest candidate for the Knicks job, given that, among other things, he only has under a year of total coaching experience. Still, this well-respected coach believes World Peace may have a future in the profession, so you never know.
