Philadelphia 76ers assistant Monty Williams is one of the hottest names on the head coaching market, and he may end up with more than one team vying for his services if he does well with interviews.

The Phoenix Suns fired Igor Kokoskov on Monday after only one season as their head coach, and Williams is high on their list of potential replacements. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Tuesday that Williams is the “top target” for the Suns, who have received permission from the Sixers to interview him.

Williams and Tyronn Lue are expected to have second interviews with the Lakers for their head coaching job, and it’s possible both LA and Phoenix could end up wanting to hire Williams — especially with the way some Lakers executives reportedly feel about bringing Lue in.

Williams, 47, was the head coach in New Orleans for five seasons from 2010-2015. The team reached the playoffs twice under him but never advanced past the first round.
