Report: NBA G League players may vote to form union
As the NBA G League continues to increase in importance, it appears the players may be poised to take an important step in its growth.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, G League players are set to vote this weekend on possibly unionizing. This would allow them to take a stronger stance on key issues, such as salary and travel.
NBA’s G-League players will begin voting Saturday on the creation of a union, sources tell ESPN. The NBPA's assisting in the formation of a G-League-governed players association that would need more than 50 percent of players to sign an electronic authorization card for passage.

Pro sports leagues unionize, but they’re less common in minor leagues. This could be a big deal as a result.
As the G League grows in prominence as a potential destination for prep stars, the spotlight on them will only grow. That will probably make moves like this a necessity.
