Nets.com now redirects to the official website of the Knicks

At what point will the Brooklyn Nets finally give in and make an offer to purchase the website Nets.com? Every team in the NBA has a website that you can get to by punching in the team’s name, except the Nets. On Sunday night, a trip over to Nets.com conveniently redirected users to the New York Knicks All-Star voting ballot. Now, it simply takes you to the official website of the Knicks.

Last month, Nets.com redirected to a page that bragged about how the Nets didn’t own the website. At the bottom was a picture of Mark Cuban sticking his tongue out, which led to speculation that Cuban owns the domain and was playing a prank. Cuban denied it, and if you didn’t believe him then you probably should now that it redirects to the Knicks’ official site.

The initial joke was pretty weak, but this one ranks up there with some of the better cyber jokes we have seen.
