The Golden State Warriors concluded the first half of the 2025-26 NBA season with Stephen Curry still sidelined by an injury.
In their final game before the NBA All-Star break on Wednesday, the Curry-less Warriors suffered a 126-113 loss to Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs at Chase Center in San Francisco, Calif., as Curry watched the game unfold in street clothes.
Golden State clearly missed the services of the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, as the Dubs failed to keep up with the Spurs. It was the fifth consecutive game missed by the future Basketball Hall of Famer, who is sidelined with a knee issue.
Following the contest, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr shared a positive update on Curry’s status.
“I talked to Steph earlier, and he said he was feeling better, so he’s trending in a good direction,” Kerr told reporters in the postgame press conference, via Joseph Dycus of the Mercury News.
Kerr did not say exactly when Curry will return, but the extra rest from the upcoming break should benefit the superstar point guard.
The Warriors just don’t operate as well on the floor without Curry, and they will not be going places this season without him.
Golden State is scoring 114.3 points per 100 possessions this season, but its offensive rating is at 118.0 when Curry is on the floor.
