Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison was not having a good time Friday during his team’s play-in tournament game against the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn.
Harrison’s marquee midseason acquisition, Anthony Davis, had a monster game over the first three quarters. The Mavericks star tallied 36 points before the fourth quarter to buoy Dallas in the elimination game.
But the oft-injured Davis was visibly limping early in the fourth quarter. He was subbed off the floor with 8:12 remaining in the game. As the ESPN broadcast showed Davis hobbling toward the Mavs’ bench, the camera panned over to Harrison in the crowd. The stern look on Harrison’s face said it all.

Several fans on X could not help but react to the ESPN broadcast constantly showing Harrison’s reactions as the Mavericks crumbled, both physically and from a basketball standpoint, on a national stage.

Several reporters pointed to Harrison having major concerns about Doncic’s conditioning, which was believed to be one of the reasons the Mavericks moved him. But Davis, as talented as he is, has battled injury woes throughout his entire career.
Davis tried to reenter Friday’s game at the six-minute mark of the fourth quarter, but was taken off the floor just a minute later. He finished with 40 points and 9 rebounds in the Mavericks’ 120-106 loss to the Grizzlies.
