Nikola Jokic had one of his best games on Tuesday night in what has been his best season as a pro, and Denver Nuggets fans showed their appreciation in a big way.
Jokic finished with 36 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds in a 121-112 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. When he was at the free throw line late in the fourth quarter, fans at the Pepsi Center began showering him in “MVP!” chants.

When asked about the chants after the game, Jokic had a very humble response.
“I think it’s funny, to be honest,” Jokic said. “I think there’s a better player than me that’s gonna win MVP. I’m just trying to play really good team basketball.”
It’s easy to see why Jokic has become a fan favorite in Denver. He has gone from the No. 41 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft to one of the best players in the NBA, and the big man has a fantastic sense of humor. While it’s highly unlikely that he will win MVP, he is averaging 20.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game this season. Jokic is one of the main reasons the Nuggets are just one game behind the Golden State Warriors for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
