Nuggets to sign Richard Jefferson, waive Jameer Nelson
Richard Jefferson did not take long to find a new home after being traded to Atlanta and then waived.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday that Jefferson agreed to a one-year, $2.3 million deal with the Denver Nuggets after clearing waivers.
Jefferson was traded to the Hawks on Friday, who promptly waived him. Denver needs to clear a roster spot in order to sign Jefferson. Woj says they are expected to waive guard Jameer Nelson to make it happen.

Jefferson, 37, has been in the league since 2001 and spent the last two seasons as a bench player with the Cavs. Even at his age he still averaged 20 minutes per game last season.
