Indiana Pacers rookie Kam Jones is facing a felony charge after his erratic driving sparked a police chase while he was on his way to a team practice.
Jones was arrested and charged with misdemeanor reckless driving and felony resisting arrest on Monday after police observed him driving erratically on Interstate 65 near Indianapolis, according to Joe Schroeder of FOX59. Jones refused to pull over and led police on a brief chase before he was ultimately apprehended.
Jones, a second-round pick in June’s NBA Draft, was said to be on his way to practice. The 23-year-old is being held at Marion County Jail, where his mugshot was taken, and no bail has been set.

A three-year starter at Marquette, Jones was the No. 38 overall pick in June by the San Antonio Spurs. He was traded to Indiana on draft night. In a statement, the Pacers acknowledged they were aware of the situation, but would not offer any further comment at this time.
Jones has yet to play for the Pacers, as he has been dealing with a back injury throughout the preseason. He was likely headed for the G League once the season starts.
