Patrick Beverley messes with Gordon Hayward on free throw
Leave it to Patrick Beverley to mess with an opponent on a free throw … and get the desired result.
In the final minute of Utah’s 117-114 overtime win over Houston on Tuesday night, Gordon Hayward was fouled and went to the line. Beverley then got right up in his personal space and even touched his arm, screwing up the Jazz forward’s routine. Hayward proceeded to miss his first free throw but made the second:
Just to give you an idea of how successful Beverley was with that move, Hayward only missed one field goal the whole game (he was 6-of-7 and 3-of-4 on threes), and he was 13-of-15 at the line for 28 points.
But it’s this sort of thing from Beverley that makes him a pest and leads guys to speak negatively about him like the way Damian Lillard once did.
