Paul Millsap apparently still believes in internal victories.
Speaking after the Washington Wizards won Game 2 against his Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday to jump out to a 2-0 lead in their first-round playoff series, the All-Star power forward shrugged off the deficit.
“I think they got home-court advantage. They played off of that,” said Millsap, per Chase Hughes of CSN Mid-Atlantic. “We’re going back to Atlanta. We feel like we’re still confident, so to us it’s 0-0.”
Millsap has a point in that the Wizards simply did what they were supposed to and protected home-court. But the Hawks aren’t exactly known for a strong home crowd, and Millsap has already shown some rattled nerves this series, so it may not be quite that simple for Atlanta to get back in it.
