A record has been set for the highest price paid for NBA Finals tickets.
Two tickets were purchased to Game 4 of the Finals on the Golden State Warriors’ website for $50,507.50 per ticket. According to The Action Network’s Darren Rovell, that is the highest amount ever paid per seat in an NBA Finals game.
The fan, who bought two courtside seats, paid a total of $101,015. That’s more than the absurd amount we saw someone pay for Game 3 tickets.
The Warriors are playing in their fifth straight NBA Finals and looking to win their third straight championship. This could be their last season with Kevin Durant, who is widely expected to leave in free agency. And though the Warriors, down 1-0 in the series entering Sunday night’s Game 2, will not have a chance to close things out in Game 4, the contest could mark the final Warriors home game at Oracle Arena in Oakland. Golden State is moving to the Chase Center in San Francisco beginning next season.
The Finals have been a hot ticket. In Toronto, fans have been so excited about the Raptors’ run that they lined up outside Scotiabank Arena 15 hours prior to Game 1.
