Robert Covington, Clint Capela, Evan Turner at center of potential 3-team trade
The NBA trade deadline is fewer than 48 hours away, and teams are working hard on possible deals. One such trade could involve three teams or even a fourth, and would include a few big names switching teams.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported on Tuesday that the Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets are in serious talks about a 3-team trade.
The trade would involve Robert Covington being dealt from Minnesota to Houston; Clint Capela from Houston to Atlanta; and Evan Turner plus draft picks to Minnesota.
Sources: Minnesota, Atlanta, Houston are in serious discussions on a deal that would send Robert Covington to Rockets and Clint Capela to the Hawks. Evan Turner and draft compensation involved in current talks to Timberwolves. Potential fourth team too.

Charania notes a fourth team could be added.
The same framework for a trade was mentioned earlier in the day by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who said that the fourth team was the Warriors and they would be dealing D’Angelo Russell. However, Golden State was said to be moving on from a possible deal with the Timberwolves.
Woj later reported that the Denver Nuggets could be the fourth team.
