Carmelo Anthony is expected to either be traded or bought out by the Oklahoma City Thunder at some point this summer, and he will likely be looking to sign with a contender when that happens. If that is the case, the Houston Rockets are a team to watch.
Marc Stein of the New York Times reports that the Rockets will be among the teams interested in Anthony if and when the star forward becomes a free agent.

Chris Paul, Anthony’s close friend, recently signed a max extension with the Rockets, so the level of interest would almost certainly be mutual. Carmelo is also still in search of his first championship ring, and there are only a few teams — if any — that have a shot at getting the best of the Golden State Warriors. The Rockets, when healthy, could be one of them.
Anthony was nearly traded to the Rockets before the New York Knicks sent him to OKC last year, and even he has said he doesn’t understand why he didn’t end up in Houston. Perhaps this will be a case of better late than never.
