The Houston Rockets have lost some high-profile role players this offseason, and subsequently know they need to find a way to beef up their defense.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Rockets are looking to the trade market with the hopes of adding one or two defensive-minded players before training camp opens.
Brian Windhorst on ESPN regarding potential #Rockets moves beyond Carmelo Anthony: "They are active in the trade market."
Says Houston is showing some willingness to take long-term money back for Ryan Anderson. "They have been talking to teams about adding defenders."

More Windhorst: "It wouldn't surprise me if they make a move for a defensive player or two before training camp." #Rockets

Two of Houston’s key secondary players, Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute, left for the Suns and Clippers, respectively. That means Houston needs to replace some of their defensive ability. Their other prominent incoming addition isn’t known as a defensive specialist, so this is going to be a high priority for them in the next few weeks.
