Rudy Gobert clearly did not want any smoke from Russell Westbrook on Friday night.
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets were involved in a very heated incident during the fourth quarter of their matchup Friday. Denver guard Christian Braun annihilated Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert with a vicious poster dunk and proceeded to get up in Gobert’s face. Gobert then responded by taking a swing at Braun to push him away (full video here).
In the wake of the incident, a hilarious video angle of Nuggets guard Russell Westbrook charging in at Gobert to defend his teammate Braun went viral. The angle showed that Gobert was clearly spooked by Westbrook suddenly accelerating towards him. Check it out.

In the end, only Braun and Gobert received technical fouls for the incident. The Timberwolves ultimately went on to win by a 119-116 final score.
Despite their big height difference, you can’t blame Gobert for getting frightened there. The ex-MVP Westbrook is probably a bottom-five NBA player you want to see charging at you. He is notoriously confrontational and will come after you no matter if you are an opponent or even just a fan in the stands.
