Russell Westbrook gets disrespected by popular video game
Russell Westbrook is taking Ls in both the real world and the virtual world.
Popular basketball video game “NBA 2K” updated their list of player ratings around the league this week. The Los Angeles Lakers guard Westbrook was notably downgraded to a 79 in the game. Westbrook began the season with an 86 rating and had consistently been in the high 80s to early 90s for many years before that.
Here is a partial list of players who now have higher ratings than Westbrook in the game: current teammate Carmelo Anthony, former teammate Steven Adams, UCLA contemporary Kevin Love, and rookies Josh Giddey, Scottie Barnes, and Cade Cunningham.
It is a big fall from grace for the former MVP Westbrook but not an entirely surprising one given his struggles this year. He is seen as one of the biggest reasons why the Lakers are an awful 28-31. Even Westbrook’s old rivals have been enjoying his downfall.
Still though, you would expect a player with 18-8-7 averages this season to have a better rating than a 79. That level of disrespect for Westbrook is one we have not seen from “NBA 2K” since they did this fellow NBA guard dirty.
