Russell Westbrook says he has dropped ‘next question’ from his vocabulary

Russell Westbrook already appears to be a changed man just two months into his tenure with the Houston Rockets.

Speaking at Media Day this week, the eight-time All-Star said that he had dropped “next question” from his vocabulary, per ESPN’s Tim MacMahon. Westbrook added that he was “in a new place in my life.”

The former MVP was notoriously difficult with the media for much of his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and “next question” became a preferred retort of his for any inquiry that he did not feel like answering. Westbrook’s approach did garner him notable criticism from around the league however.

Indeed being in literally a new place in his life, it is good to see Westbrook finally retiring the “next question” snipe now that he is on the Rockets. Of course, it may just be that he no longer has to deal with his media nemesis.
