Security did not recognize Jerry West at Summer League
Jerry West may be The Logo and one of the most iconic figures in NBA history, but apparently that still isn’t enough of an identifier for some people.
Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reported on Friday that the 80-year-old LA Clippers executive was asked by security to clear out of a walkway near the court during Summer League in Las Vegas. Here’s the kicker: the security guard was wearing a pin with the NBA logo on it.
Security in Vegas is tough. They just asked a guy to move back out of a walkway near the court. The guy: Jerry West. Security guy is WEARING A PIN THAT IS THE LOGO THAT IS JERRY WEST AND ASKED JERRY WEST TO MOVE.

West, of course, has been a staple of the sport for several decades now, thanks to both his illustrious playing career with the Los Angeles Lakers and his second calling as one of the most successful front office gurus of all-time.
Regardless though, it’s obvious that West’s resume meant diddly squat to security on Friday night. Now the only question is if the security is tighter at NBA Summer League or at Angel Stadium.
