Serge Ibaka bloodied by elbow from teammate in Game 5

Serge Ibaka

Serge Ibaka left Game 5 between his Toronto Raptors and the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night after taking an elbow to the head.

Ibaka was under the basket trying to grab a rebound after a Ben Simmons miss and was nailed by an elbow from teammate Kawhi Leonard.

Ibaka stayed behind the action and took a knee after being hit, with a trainer called out to look at him after a stoppage in play. The Raptors big man had a cloth to his head to absorb the blood that was coming out.

Ibaka headed to the locker room for medical evaluation after suffering the laceration. He had played two minutes off the bench before exiting.

The injury to Ibaka is significant because Toronto has had such a shallow rotation in the postseason. He played 35 minutes in the Game 4 win.

TNT later reported that Ibaka received stitches to his forehead and was likely to return to the game.

Toronto and Philly are tied 2-2 in their Eastern Conference semifinals series.
