Shaquille O’Neal’s feud with Dwight Howard may truly be in the past judging by his response to Howard’s election to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
Howard was selected for the Hall of Fame this week, and posted on X about who he wanted to present him for the ceremony. The former star center said he wanted Kevin Garnett, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Shaq to take the role. Shaq’s inclusion on the list came as a bit of a surprise in light of his long-standing feud with Howard.
I want KG , Shaq, and Kareem to walk me out 🙏🏾 #hof

Howard’s post was put to Shaq on the latest edition of “The Big Podcast.” Surprisingly, O’Neal sounded enthusiastic about the idea.
“I’ll do it. I’ll be there,” O’Neal said. “Of course. That’s my guy.”

Maybe there is a little sarcasm still going on here, though it’s possible that Shaq was serious when he said he was done beefing with Howard. That would still be quite the shift considering the words they’ve traded in public for roughly two decades.
It is possible that Shaq is not going to dump on a guy’s Hall of Fame selection, even if it is Howard. For the moment, at least, the beef appears to be on hold.
An eight-time All-NBA selection and former NBA champion, Howard was elected to the Hall of Fame on his first try. Even Shaq cannot deny those credentials.
