Tiger Woods withdrew from the Farmer’s Insurance Open last weekend with yet another injury. This time, Woods said his glutes are giving him trouble and leading to lower back pain.
“[My] glutes are shutting off,” he told reporters on Friday. “Then they don’t activate and then it goes into my lower back. … So I tried to activate my glutes as best I could, but they just never stayed activated.”
It was certainly a strange way of describing an injury, and one that Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry took a blatant shot at before his team’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.

While Curry was obviously just cracking a joke, we all know Tiger is an intense guy. He probably won’t appreciate it, especially given all the trouble he has already had this season. Woods hit two embarrassing back-to-back chip shots in his first tournament back from injury in December and was seen dry-heaving on the course just a few days later.
Curry, who has said in the past that he is a big Tiger fan, probably didn’t score any points there with the 14-time major champion.
